Small Dogs, Big Responsibility 🐕🦺
As small dog pet parents, we know how important freedom and fun are for our pups. But we also have a unique responsibility, because not everyone finds unleashed dogs (even tiny ones!) as adorable as we do.
Here’s a real message someone recently shared:
“Every park I visit has unleashed dogs, even where signs say to leash up. I’ve been tripped, threatened, and ignored by owners when I ask them to leash their dogs. It makes quiet walks in nature feel unsafe.”
Even small dogs can surprise or frighten people, especially if they run up unexpectedly, and not every dog is friendly with other dogs (big or small).
Let’s set the standard for small dog parents by:
🐾 Leashing up in on-leash zones, it’s safer for everyone, including your dog
🗺️ Using designated off-leash areas when your pup needs to zoom
🎧 Respecting those who want peaceful, dog-free space in parks
Being polite, kind, and respectful reflects well on all of us, and helps keep our pups welcome in more places.
Let’s be the kind of dog owners people love to see around! 💛
